YouTube CEO Neal Mohan has announced a series of AI-powered features and platform enhancements at the "Made On YouTube" conference, aiming to empower creators and deepen artist-fan connections while marking the platform's $100 billion payout milestone over the past four years.

The updates, detailed Tuesday, focus on streamlining content creation and monetization. For Shorts, new tools include "Edit with AI" for turning raw footage into drafts and "Speech to song" for transforming dialogue into soundtracks.

Mohan stressed AI's role in boosting human creativity: "No studio, network, tech company, or AI tool will own the future of entertainment. That power belongs to you – the creators."

In YouTube Studio, creators gain A/B testing for video titles, "Create Collaborations" for joint projects, and an expanded likeness detection tool for managing AI-generated content using their image, now available to all YouTube Partner Program members.

Live streaming receives its "largest upgrade ever," with features to enhance audience engagement and revenue from events, which comprise over 30% of daily logged-in views.

For artists, YouTube Music introduces pre-save options for releases and countdowns, plus rewards like exclusive content for top fans. Brand partnerships expand with Shorts links for sponsored content and AI-powered product tagging for easier shopping integration.
